Nebraska State Fair
The Nebraska State Fair is the premier opportunity for 4-H members to showcase what they have learned and worked on throughout the year. At the State Fair, we celebrate the successes of thousands of youth who have learned and grown through 4-H. The State Fair is a prime opportunity for 4-H members to cultivate skills they have learned in 4-H projects, put their life skills and good character to work, discover new areas of interest, and meet new people. The Nebraska State Fair is held yearly at the Nebraska State Fairgrounds in Grand Island, Nebraska. This year’s event will be held from August 23 – September 1, 2024.
For many Nebraska 4-H youth, the Nebraska State Fair is considered the pinnacle experience of a year’s worth of hard work and commitment. Recognition is an acknowledgment and affirmation of a young person’s personal growth. Through this recognition, we can encourage young people to believe in themselves, pursue their sparks and to be positive contributors in their communities as capable and competent citizens.
The Nebraska 4-H Foundation provides monetary awards to many exhibitors who have exhibited excellence through their projects. From public speaking, to fashion show to sheep showmanship we honor 4-Hers who are showcasing talent and hard work. Nebraska State Fair awards are vital to helping us celebrate the accomplishments, growth and development of our youth. We continuously seek sponsorships for 4-H’ers’ awards at the Nebraska State Fair.
