Joe’s Clover Knights- December 2014 Club of the Month
This month we would like to congratulate The Joe’s Clover Knights for being awarded the Nebraska 4-H Club of the Month for December 2014. The club has grown from its original 6 members to 92 members in just 7 years. Joe’s Clover Knights are now Lancaster County’s largest 4-H Club! The club is made up of 4-Her’s ranging from 5 years old to 14. The Joe’s Clover Knights Club was just recently awarded the Governors Agriculture Excellence Award! They used their grant money to make and donate 36 tied fleece blankets to St. Gianna’s home for battered women, along with 100 children’s books. These 4-H members clearly have huge hearts for service and love giving their time and treasure to those in need. Last year, they also donated 110 toys and gift packs to the Catholic Social Services: Saint Nicholas Toy Shop for Christmas for the less fortunate. Aside from community service, the 4-H group does an array of projects and demonstrations including: baking, sewing, crocheting, rockets, cake decorating, wood working and photography. They also spend time together by working in the 4-H concession stand during the Lancaster County Fair. This year at the Lancaster County Fair, Joe’s Clover Knights had many excellent projects and even many state qualifiers! The life skills that 4-H has provided for this club is priceless. The Nebraska 4-H Foundation and Nebraska 4-H Ambassadors are proud to call the Joe’s Clover Knights, 4-H Club of the Month for December 2014. Keep up the good work!
The Nebraska 4-H Ambassadors work together with the Nebraska 4-H Foundation provide the 4-H Club of the Month program to all Nebraska 4-H clubs throughout the state. Clubs can nominate themselves by telling why their club should be chosen as Club of the Month. A different club will be chosen each month and will be awarded with a certificate and $50 cash card.
